Meet Thomas and Gwyn Thiele, proud US Air Force veterans.

Thomas Thiele:

Thomas joined the Air Force in 1991 and served for nine years, with assignments at Grand Forks, ND, Aviano, Italy, he then stationed at Hill Air Force Base UT, US. This is where he met his wife of 26 years. During his service, he did multiple Middle East tours and traveled the world playing basketball. Thomas was raised in Southeastern South Dakota. After 35 years as a civilian firefighter for the military, he is retiring back to his roots in Northeastern South Dakota. Thomas enjoys hunting, fishing, and giving back to others in his community.

Gwyn Thiele:

Gwyn joined the Air Force in 1994 to see the world, only to be stationed an hour from home. She spent 10 years at Hill Air Force Base, UT, US, but she did get to experience deployments to the Middle East and Korea.

When she met Thomas, she was covering lunch for her airman. Gwyn knew it was love at first fight. Her and Thomas got into an argument over a player who was injured. She told the coach that Thomas couldn't play on the basketball team until she received a written apology. 26 years later, she is still waiting on that written apology!
